I didn't know Je' well but he and Squirt were friends and me and Squirt were tight so I was with them together a few times.  He was also good friends with Deborah Sears and I loved Debbie.  When I took Debbie to the Prom he gave me a lot of props. I really don't think he thought much of me till then.  After that we were cool,.  Rest in Peace Je".

I knew Jay when we were kids. My father knew his Dad who was one of only a couple of African American attorneys in KCK--Big Jim Davis. He carried a pistol on his belt whenever I saw him;  I think even around the house. That was not so strange because my Dad at the  time was a Cop and he too was always "strapped" when we went out in the car for family outings--so I didn't think much about Jay's dad having a pistol. I remember trying to learn to roller skate at Je Parker's house because they had sidewalk in front of their home and it was flat. I lived on a steep hill on Oakland between 12th and 13th Streets so even though I could ride a bicycle up and down there pretty fast, I never learned to skate. Je and his sister were great skaters. Then of course when we got to Sumner, Je played Quarterback on the football team and was the starter for one season I recall and then midway through our senior year I believe, Coach Jones made a change and put in James Heggie who was fast and could throw the ball pretty well. I think Je may have gotten injured and that's why Jones made the switch. After graduation, I never saw Je Parker again. I had hoped to see him at a reunion sometime but that never happened. RIP Je Parker and my condolences to his family.
